What is Erectile Dysfunction?
ED is the inability to get or maintain an erection. Occasional ED is not unusual for men, especially during times of high stress. However, if you suffer from persistent ED, you may want to inquire about treatment. You might have ED if you can’t achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for sex even though you’re sexually aroused. Symptoms not only impact your sexual health and your relationship with your partner, but also affect your overall quality of life. Symptoms can be attributed to several factors including hormone imbalance, illness, depression, poor diet and exercise.
What are the treatment options?
RevitaLifeMD offers multiple treatment options for ED: Generic Viagra and Cialis We offer Sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) and Tadalifil (The active ingredient in Cialis) : These are medications proven to help with persistent ED. Our Patients save up to 80% on prescription ED medications.
What are Cialis and Viagra?
Cialis® is a drug that is used to treat ED. It comes in four doses, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg. Cialis® can be taken as needed in any of the four doses. The 2.5 mg and 5 mg doses are also approved for daily use for ED. Cialis® in the 2.5 mg and 5 mg doses is also FDA-approved for men suffering from urinary symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with or without ED. Viagra® (nicknamed “the little blue pill”) is a drug that is used to treat ED. It comes in three doses, 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg. Viagra® is part of a class of medicines used to treat ED called phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (PDE5i). Other drugs in this family include Cialis (tadalafil), Levitra (vardenafil), and Stendra (avanafil). All of these drugs have the same mechanism of action, but there are subtle differences that may cause someone to choose one drug over the others.
What are Generic Viagra (Sildenfil) and Generic Cialis (Tadalifil)?
The FDA requires generic drugs to be bioequivalent to the brand name version. This means that they act the same way in the body and are expected to produce the same effects as the original brand name drug. Sildenafil is the chemical name of the active ingredient in Viagra® and Tadalafil is the chemical name of the active ingredient in Cialis®. Generic drugs are generally much cheaper than the original brand name drug.
Why do some men prefer one drug over another?
The various phosphodiesterase inhibitors, though similar, have different effects and side effects. Sildenafil (Viagra) has a relatively rapid onset compared to Tadalafil (Cialis). Viagra will be out of the body in about 6 to 8 hours, while Cialis can work for 24 to 36 hours. The differences can make one drug preferred over the others, depending on your circumstances. Consider two men.One might be able to predict when sexual activity will occur. A drug that works rapidly and leaves his system quickly thereafter would be perfect, as with sildenafil. With Viagra or sildenafil, a fatty meal may delay absorption and the peak of activity may take longer than an hour to begin. Another man might know sex will occur during the course of a weekend but cannot know exactly when that will occur. For him, a drug with a prolonged period of activity is far more important than how long it takes for a medicine to start working. For him, tadalafil (Cialis) may be the best option.
What is Acoustic Wave Therapy?
Acoustic Wave Therapy uses energy from acoustic waves to kickstart a process known as neovascularization. Neovascularization is the formation of new blood vessels in the affected region. New blood vessels means more blood flow to the area.
What is Injection Therapy?
Penile Injection Therapy involves a self-administered injection. If you have found oral ED medications to be ineffective, injection therapy may be the answer.
